I joined Bayview in October of 2000 when there were fewer than 350 people. The thing that attracted me most to Bayview was its unique small balance commercial loan business model which I felt and time has confirmed is a very stable and profitable strategy. The work environment is pleasant; despite the exponential growth we have experienced. Fortunately it hasn't become bureaucratized and the work remains extremely interesting. Working here has allowed me to grow in a variety of areas from licensing and commercial lending to marketing and data security. I never know what new thing I'm going to be involved with, it's constantly evolving. From a leadership point of view, you have a feeling that management cares about employees. They value you as a resource and find ways of placing people in the right place. Making sure they are a right fit.
Bayview is a progressive and dynamic organization with the willingness to pursue opportunities as they see them. Its allowed me to pursue my professional development largely in part because its very employee focused, they care about their people. Bayview has grown a lot over the past few years but it retains its small company feel. The attention to the individual is a lot like a smaller company. This is a great place to work, the people care about getting the job done. There aren't turf battles, people cooperate and they understand that they are part of a team, each with their particular role to play. Bayview doesn't pay lip service to the company tenets, they live it. It's not a glossy corporate message. We live and breathe the tenets; you see it across the entire organization. What I like most about Bayview is that this is an organization that is willing to change, to evaluate policies and ways of doing things and changing them if their not right. Everyone realizes that they have to pull their own weight, everyone must produce. However, you have a lot of flexibility in how you achieve those goals.
I came to Bayview as a technical project manager to help out with multiple projects in the voice operations department. After six months there was a restructure and I was offered the position of Director of Web Services group. What attracted me to the company was its history of continuous solid growth, the positive feedback I got from vendors who had worked with them and the opportunity to get in almost at ground level with a dynamic company in the lending industry. The culture here is great; everyone is truly committed to getting the job done and are always willing to help out. Management provides plenty of room for opportunities and are willing to listen and support new ideas. This is great because it allows you to grow through new challenges. Bayview as a whole is truly a leading company within its own rights and niche market. I am proud of working for Bayview and I look forward to many years to come.
I had a relationship with Bayview dating back to the nineties when I owned my own brokerage and sold them paper. Bayview was a small outfit then and I liked their approach to concentrating on niche markets and developing them. I empathized with their philosophy of focusing on segments of the market that the big players weren't interested in. It was very similar to the way I conducted business. What attracted me most was the ability to do what I had being doing in my own company but on a larger scale. I've been here three years now and what I enjoy the most are the daily challenges. Most places have a narrow scope and are very restrictive, especially when it comes to change. But here its different, Bayview promotes looking for ways to branch out and find opportunities. The mind set is geared towards finding solutions; it's tempered by the willingness to change as the market changes. A good example is our bank referral service; it's been successful because we are constantly reinventing it, finding ways to provide customers with viable solutions. Everything that I thought Bayview would be has transpired, from the ability to identify opportunities to the responsiveness of taking ideas and running with it. For such a large firm to be so nimble is mind boggling. The key is how they take an idea and turn it into a business plan is unlike anything I have seen. Given its size, it's amazing how fast things happen. All of the companies have an entrepreneurial spirit; it's a very unique situation. Our success is dependant upon our people, we have a fantastic group that is dedicated, and they care. They feel a sense of pride, for their work and the company. I think that's prevalent across the company, people here care about the customer; everything else just falls into place.
I joined Bayview for the opportunity to join a company that was growing and that would provide me the chance to work on re-branding. Unlike other companies, Bayview is relatively new with a lot of opportunities to create new things. A lot of things aren't developed yet and that will allow me to participate at the beginning in the creation of new products and services. During the time I've been here I've come to enjoy the people and the challenges that have been presented to me. People are friendly, they're courteous and considerate. The environment is very positive, there's a lot of teamwork, people make an effort to get along and support each other. The key thing that will keep me here is that the environment allows me to do my best work, more so than anywhere else. The way the teams work together combined with the leadership style, these are critical to allowing us to do our best work. Respect for time, working reasonable hours with reasonable goals really helps, it's very important to me. I have great projects; everyday is fun because there are new and challenging projects to handle. For such a large company, everything is very connected. It's very flexible, other companies stifle you with rules that don't add anything or make you more productive. Theres more respect for people here, I get a sense that there's a better work-life balance.
I joined Bayview in March of 2004, recruited by a colleague. The things that attracted me to Bayview were the opportunity for advancement and the work-life balance. That last point is very important to point out because it's not prevalent in today's business environment. It's not written but there is an understanding here that you have the right to take time off for personal things; however it's understood that you will make that time up either before or after. There are no questions, it's just understood and people respect that. It's not something they abuse. I think people realize that it's a huge benefit. There is no other company like Bayview that can compete with its corporate culture. I like the business and the people. I have a lot of exposure to upper management and like the opportunities that affords me. If there is one thing that can best define Bayview is execution, we can move on a dime. Identifying opportunities and acting upon them quickly and resolutely. It's been challenging yet I have learned a lot about the industry and how the business is run which I probably wouldn't have achieved in a similar position elsewhere. When I compare it to other companies that I have worked for, it's light years ahead, others were highly politicized. Bayview provides the necessary support to achieve things. In addition there's simply not as much bureaucracy here.
I've been with the company for 10 years. I came to Bayview for the opportunity to work in servicing. Since then its been nothing but exciting. Every day is a new challenge, every day I get to do something different. In addition, the people make a real difference too. I enjoy working here for a variety of reasons, among them are how the company takes care of its people, they really care about them. You can see it in the employee events, the Christmas party and the many ways it tries to pull everybody together. The company cares about what people think and how they feel. I had the opportunity to join the company when there were only 50 people; therefore I have been able to get involved in so many aspects and learn so much. I interact with many departments on a slew of issues. I love the challenge of something new. Other companies simply aren't as dynamic; they simply don't have the drive or desire to expand like Bayview has.
I audited Bayview for seven years prior to working here so I was very familiar with the company and really liked the people and the environment. I respected the way they conducted business and was interested in joining them to take advantage of the growth opportunities available. I like the challenge, I have the opportunity to work with top management and be involved with high level strategy. I love the opportunity of participating in projects that will bring about major change. Working at Bayview has far exceeded my expectations, I've been extremely lucky to grow up within the organization and have had multiple opportunities to work on important projects. The work has challenged me and afforded me the opportunity to grow as a professional and a person. Being here has developed my technical skills in accounting and treasury to a point that I would simply have not had the opportunity elsewhere. Bayview is a fun place to work, it's always evolving and it's very fast paced. But they also strive to have a good work/life balance. The attitude here is low key, what I mean by that is there aren't any egos. The focus is on getting the work done, resolving conflict and looking for solutions and that's very refreshing.
I was interested in working at Bayview because I liked their entrepreneurial style. I could appreciate that there was a lot of room to grow and make your mark. Especially from a development point of view, a lot of things simply didn't exist. So you were starting from scratch. Working here has been a lot of fun because you get to interact with a lot of great professionals. The business has the ability to attract quality people from whom you can learn. The culture is vibrant and constantly evolving. I've worked in high growth companies before but never at the pace and with the ability to make an impact as I have experienced at Bayview. Most companies are not set up for change; Bayview on the other hand is all about evolution.
I joined Bayview over five years ago as the administrative assistant to David Quint (COO). What attracted me to Bayview was its unique position in South Florida. I had previously worked in New York for a Fortune 500 company and was used to a large fast-paced environment. Bayview was certainly fast-paced and it made the transition easy. After a year of working with David I had the opportunity to work in a then-new business, Silver Hill, helping them with their trade shows. The position eventually turned into a full time job and I became a trade event manager traveling all over the states orchestrating events for the company. What I like about Bayview is that management genuinely cares for its employees and their development. As the company has grown, I've been afforded the opportunity to grow with it. Bayview embraces change and because it's constantly growing there are a lot of opportunities to expand. I know I wouldn't have had the same opportunities elsewhere.
I was petrified to come to Bayview because I had a successful law practice. I was interviewed three times and said no three times until David Quint (Bayview Holdings COO) suggested I speak to some of the employees, which I did. After talking to five or six people I realized how wonderful working at Bayview could be. I gave up 33 years of practicing law and have never regretted it. Bayview allows me to expand my experience in the Qualified Intermediary industry and further allows me to hire the best in the industry. One of the issues I was worried about was whether I would have the proper employee mix to do the type of job they expected from me. Happily I can say I truly feel I have worked with some of the most considerate, knowledgeable and creative people I have ever met. When I look at our competition and evaluate what they have available, there is no question that I have the better tools to work with. When I graduated from high school, my grades weren't good enough to enter Harvard University. I'm proud to say though that due to my marketing department and the company's stature within the industry; I have now given lectures at Harvard University's school of business as well as Cornell's and several other prestigious schools.
I came here nine years ago and began in the servicing unit. A friend who worked here spoke well of it and recommended that I apply and I have been here ever since. I like the people I work with, the spirit of cooperation and teamwork. I also enjoy the benefits program which simply aren't available at smaller organizations. Finally, I like the fact that there's a lot of opportunity for growth. Every day is different and I get to explore new things. Working at Bayview has surpassed all my expectations; I like the way the company projects itself, into the community and with its employees. Management cares about its people; they listen and keep in touch with what the employees are thinking.
I met my boss eight years ago at a get together (professional mortgage women's association), she was the keynote speaker and was looking for qualified people. Bayview was small at the time, I was the fiftieth employee and I saw the potential to get in at the beginning and make my mark. Its been a challenging time; the growth has come fast and furious. I can remember in the early years how we did a lot of things by hand, now everything is automated. The one consistent thing though has been management's response; they really care about us and appreciate the effort we put in. Bayview has met my expectations in so many ways; they bring a lot to the table. It's amazing how much is going on. There no limit to the growth this company is experiencing. From forging the new business units to our expansion into the European market. There's always something to look forward to. I worked for a bank and a mortgage company but they weren't as fearless as Bayview. They explore opportunities and are willing to take risks. You hear people talk about "the Bayview way" which is our particular way of doing business. Identifying opportunities and moving quickly to take advantage of them. A lot of people aren't used to that fast-paced approach, but we thrive on it. It's the cornerstone of our success.
I began working for Silver Hill four years ago and the thing that attracted me most about the company was the fact that everyone I interviewed with was very happy. The people enjoyed what they were doing and were excited to be there. It was infectious; once I was in I had the opportunity to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Everyone's experience was different, everything was new and I learned from them. Since then I've learned what it means when they say "The Bayview Way." Bayview has a unique approach to entering new businesses, we're decisive, and we take risks and move fast. We learn and adapt quickly. Bayview has exceeded my expectations many times over; I wanted to work for a company that was growing, I was looking for a place where I could grow too. Bayview has allowed me to grow with it. I've been promoted three times in the four years that I've been here. This is definitely an organization that recognizes effort. Compared to other companies, Bayview is miles ahead. This company is constantly evolving, redefining how it works. Many companies are very hierarchy minded, you have to "know your place." Bayview is not like that at all. Managers expect everyone to participate, to find solutions, to participate. It's truly a team effort; everyone knows what is expected from them and are driven to exceed.
I began working here seven years ago when the company was still very small. I was attracted to Bayview because I could see there was a lot of opportunity to grow. Especially if you were willing to put in the effort. It's exciting to work here because the organization is fast-paced and management acts upon ideas. There are few layers of management and little bureaucracy, the emphasis is on getting things done. My job has changed over the years and I've had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles. I've always felt it's important that your values jive with the company in which you work; I feel that my values and Bayview go hand in hand. I like the way they commit to their employees, the focus on work/like balance and their commitment to the community. You hear about The Bayview Way, which I interpret as seizing opportunities. Bayview has a philosophy of looking for opportunities and acting upon them. People who are successful in Bayview know what is expected from them and go about getting results. I like the fact that the company provides those opportunities and recognizes and rewards them. I also like that despite the company's growth, management continues to retain its small company culture. From the town hall meetings to the year end party, management stays close to its employees and makes an effort to understand what they're thinking. About four years ago I had the opportunity to be part of the Silver Hill start up. Looking back on it, I'm very proud to have been part of team that launched the business. It's incredible to think how we started as an idea and now we are a major force in the small balance commercial lending market.
