Bayview Loan Servicing, LLC (BLS) performs the special servicing and asset management functions for the loans in the Bayview Financial portfolio.
BLS was created in 1999 to help Bayview better understand and manage its credit risk, and to increase its ability to mitigate losses. BLS has dramatically improved the Company's ability to manage delinquencies and mitigate losses in its own residential and commercial mortgage portfolios. As one of the highest rated special servicers in the country, BLS adds significant value to the portfolios it services on behalf of our clients.
While M&T Bank acts as the primary servicer for most Bayview loans, BLS is called on to service all loans that are either sub- or non-performing. BLS has made significant investments in both personnel and technology in order to attain the specialized skills necessary to manage this category of loans. BLS managers, who have an average of 18 years of industry experience, utilize proprietary systems to facilitate collection, loss mitigation, foreclosure, and bankruptcy and REO activities. BLS's commitment to technology enables it to make quick and accurate decisions regarding loan resolutions, thereby helping to reduce losses. BLS has been at the forefront of actively engaging with troubled borrowers to effect loan modifications or workouts that benefit both the borrower and the investor.
As a result of these efforts, BLS is well-positioned to adapt to changing market conditions, and to service the wide range of loan types originated in recent years. In addition to maintaining residential servicing ratings in one of the top-two categories with each of the major rating agencies, BLS is one of very few servicers to have earned high small-balance commercial designations from Fitch Ratings, Moody's Investors Service and Standard & Poor's.
